Don't be afraid of "nothing"

A reportage from Wild West Church 23/1 2011.

The service started with almost an hour of praise and worship lead by the Kingdom Center band.

We then got to pick up some coffee and cookies and took our seats to share the word together.

The topic of the day was; Don't be afraid of "nothing".

Pastor Christer preached about how we are supposed to create things with our words. When we speak into our circumstances the Holy Spirit acts upon those words and comes with His power.

Genesis 1 verse 2-3 says:
2 And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

The Holy Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters but it wasn't until God spoke that the creation process began. We also need to speak to set the creation process in and around our lives into action and allow the Holy Spirit to come with His power. The power is not in the word itself but the Holy Spirit.

If we are people who know that we can speak into things that look like "nothing" and "something" will be created we don't need to be afraid of "nothing".
"Nothing" is actually an exciting place to be if we are people who live in God's will.

If God tell you to do something and you lack the resources to accomplish that you need to start to open your mouth and speak those things into existence.

Just like Romans 4:17 says:
As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.

When we speak we of course have to know that we are in line with the will of God over our lives and that we are willing to step into the new doors of responsibilities that come through the words we speak, otherwise it just becomes empty words.

In 2011 it's time to believe God for more than ever before. It's time to lift our eyes and look upon Jesus Christ who sits on the throne. We are children of the most High God!
