"People who understand covenants are the richest people on earth"

During the God Embassy's 17th Anniversary a team from Kingdom Center greeted the church with a song and pastor Chris spoke about the power of real covenants in the Kingdom of God based on Mark 10:28-30.

Mark 10:28-30 says:

28 Then Peter spoke up, "We have left everything to follow you!"
29
"Truly I tell you," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.''

What did Jesus mean with those hundred homes? How many followers of Chris actually have hundreds of homes? Do we actually need to own hundreds of homes?

Jesus was not talking about ownership, he was talking about being in covenant. When the disciples decided to follow Jesus they left the principles of this world and moved into the principles of the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is built on covenants. First and foremost the covenant with God but then also covenants with each other.

When we go in covenant with each other it means that everything we have is accessible to our covenant partners. Our homes, our cars, our food etc. That means that if we are in the Kingdom of God and in covenant with other people in His Kingdom we can have access to hundreds of homes and of course brothers, sisters, mothers and so on.

That makes us the richest people in the world!!!

When we are in covenant our attitude should be to be focused on giving and not getting. Everything we own we have for the purpose of being a blessing to the people around us. Even if we don't have much material wealth we always have something to give. A smile, a helping hand or an encouraging word.
